HEAT ADVISORY: As our air conditioning is out, the Board has advised the library to shut down if the temperature goes higher than 78°. The current temperature in the library is 78°. By closing time last night, the temperature was 86°. We do anticipate closing shortly, but it depends on when the temperature hits 79°.

We regret any inconvenience to the public, but as the library serves as a cooling center, we must put the well-being of the staff and patrons first.

The mission of the Lawrence County Public Library is to provide and service the educational, informational, and recreational need of the residents of our legal service area and those persons outside our legal service area who qualify for library usage.

Welcome to the Lawrence County Public Library
 

The Lawrence County County Public Library (LCPL) has served the residents of Lawrence County since  before opening the doors to the current library in 1974. The library was founded in 1961 by the City of Moulton before becoming the county library in the early 1970's.

 

The LCPL has dedicated itself to enriching the educational, recreational, and cultural needs of Lawrence County through materials, information, electronic resources, and programs that nurture a love of learning.
