(Moulton, AL), (May 1, 2026) — Effective immediately, the Lawrence County Public Library has adjusted its operating hours at its location at 401 College Street in Moulton, closing at 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday due to temporary staffing limitations. Friday hours will remain 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Current hours are as follows:
Monday–Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
All scheduled programs, including Children’s Story Time on Tuesdays and Tiny Tots on Thursdays, will continue as planned. Friday morning visits from community partners will also continue without interruption.
“These temporary changes will help us maintain reliable service for our patrons during a period of staffing challenges,” said M. Rex Bain, Executive Director of the Lawrence County Public Library. “We are focused on keeping our most heavily used service hours and programs fully available to the public.”
The library will continue to monitor staffing conditions and evaluate hours of operation as needed. Additional updates will be shared if further adjustments become necessary.
